Plumbing questions

We have a 2018 3701lk I'm baffled on how the unit waterlines are connected First we had an issue in extreme cold weather, and result is when are hooked to "city water" , all is fine No leaks Even with the drain hose in the back open ( no cap) I figured water would run out here, but no.....However when I switch to fill the fesh water tank, then water flows out of this low point drain ?????
And.... our water pump won't run at all Doesn't appear to be a fuse issue,

I figured that low point drain at the rear would drain water no matter if on pump or city water ...

I'm guessing something happened to our pump and taking to the dealer next month

Anyone have any thoughts ?? Greatly appreciated

If we're on the same page, the low point drain near the rear of your rig is the drain to the fresh water tank. Without the cap on any water you send back there will just run out on the ground. With the tank empty there isn't any way to create suction and so your pump won't be able to do anything.

OP, The pipe you found is indeed the fresh water tank drain. The valve in the connivance center has 2 positions. Normal=when using city water or the water in your fresh water tank. If you are hooked up to city water there is no need to turn on the pump switch, the water pressure will get the water to your fixtures by itself. If you are not hooked up and are drawing water from your fresh water tank then the pump switch must be turned on to draw the water from the tank and send it to your fixtures.

By turning that switch to fill (the other position) (while hooked to city water) you are filling the fresh water tank (pump switch off)

With the switch in the normal position, and the cap off the fresh water tank drain, there should be NO water draining out. If you have water draining out continually you have a problem with a check valve at the pump.
