Snowbird Sighting of the Day
While traveling south on I-95 about five miles north of Lumberton, NC we passed a single slide, approximately 27 feet in length, 5er with an enclosed 5x8 or 6x10 foot enclosed trailer attached to the 5er bumper being pulled by a Chevy 1500 truck. The combination had Ontario tags and was rolling along at about 70mph.

Hooker ... you're probably closer to the truth than you could hope to imagine.

Just noticed they had a Ontario gentleman in Georgia for an illegal lane change and leaving the scene of an accident where a man was killed. Sometimes it's better to be safe than in a hurry or trying to take all your stuff.

I once saw an older car with one of those old chain on trailer bumper hitches that were designed for pulling light boats, pulling a car hauler with a car on it. I kid you not, that bumper was moving in and out over an inch each time they hit an expansion joint. I was torn between slowing down and waiting for the catastrophe or speeding up to avoid it. I ended up speeding up and making sure he stayed well behind me. I always wondered if he ever made it or not.

I've had similar things happened and always opted for going faster than I want to rather than trying to avoid whatever happened and how much of the road it blocked.
