Added Optonics LED marker and running lights

I decided I wanted to add some brightness to the outside of the rig. Yes, it is still day time, but I'll update later. One thing that really ticked me off was out of 11 lights that I changed, I had TWO screws that were NOT stripped from the factory! COME ON MONTANA, you can do better! Anyway, here they are and yes they are MUCH brighter. Some have brought up that the new lenses are not as reflective as the ones taken off. That is true, however, with both of the lights(OEM and NEW) being Optronics brand, the lenses are interchangeable. I can tell you that the new bases and the old lenses are NO WHERE near as bright looking at them directly from the side, however, if off to the side a bit, looks as bright as the new ones. I will post a few pics here so you can see. In the pic of the rear top 5 red lights, I changed out all of the bases BUT left the second lense form the left as the old reflective style. Again, directly behind it, it looks darker, but slightly down and R or L and it seems as bright. So,. I will go out and test them when it gets dark tonight if the rain holds off. Just thought you might like a little comparison. As you can see, I had LED peanut bulbs in the stock bases. Just wasn't bright enough for me. In the over/under comparison of the lights with the lenses off, the top one is the Optronics from Etrailer and bottom one is an Amazon base. Optronics wins it on that. Then with the lenses on, still a winner on brightness.

hey are VERY bright at night. Even in the glow of the security light and under the cover, and with the second from the left still the reflective lens, it makes no difference. They are much brighter than the LEd peanut bulbs I was running, which were brighter than the incandescent OEM ones.

Thank you. By "backlights" do you mean "backup lights" by chance?? If so, I have clear LED, oval LED lights from Optronics from Etrailer that are the ones pictured in the photo attached. The top ones are actually RED LEDs for stop/turn/tail lights and the bottom two are actually CLEAR LEDs that match the ones up top. Those are wired in for the backup lights and are VERY bright.
If you meant rear lights, then lots of people are just discovering the new style and retrofitting them to the rear of their rigs. Here they are from Command Electronics. http://www.commandelectronics.com/sh...ed-tail-lights
They can be installed with the new tag light that will fit behind them to give them a legal ride. http://www.commandelectronics.com/sh...e-plate-lights

I up graded all my running lights to led marker lights tail lights plate light and backup lights witch you would think that the price of your rig they should come with leds. The lower priced rv usually come with leds

This looks awesome

I am looking for the 3-Way Back Lights like you have them.

Did you replace the Bulbs with LED?

When I look for Multi Lights with LED and surface mount as nice direct replacement, I find nothing
I have the feeling that during daylight nobody is recognizing my turn signal for lane changes etc.

Oh, and your Trailer does not live in Auburn

Mike

Actually, the regular lights on the rear only have aluminum foil placed behind the bulbs as the base of the lights are black which does not reflect any light. If you put a piece of foil behind them, it makes them much brighter. The reason I didn't change them out to LED was initially they weren't near as bright as LEDs are now. May change out the entire light instead of changing just the bulbs.
