Delivery 3400RL

Picked up our 3400 Monday, and there were some pleasant surprises:
  • 27" View Sonic flat screen HDTV with the rear cupboard that slides out for DVD storage
  • Basement 110VAC/12VDC/TV outlets mounted at the ceiling
The rest was as ordered and anticipated.

Towing (about 400 miles) was better than expected, I assume because of the mor-ryde. We did get bucking on rough road, but never the huge bounces we experienced with our old one. We did notice it is one BIG trailer - (what have I done!). Measured and noted height with the tall front AC - 13' 3" on the truck.

Also noticed that I have to use a stool to reach the awning levers and knobs which will be a real pain trying to put it away in the wind. Will have to reconsider the electric very soon.

Unfortunately, we came home to yet another 8" of snow on top of the 2' still on the ground. Lost my spirit to work on it or even play. Just want to put it in storage and not think about it till I see grass again

Congratulations!! Happy to hear of the pleasant surprises and that all else was as ordered. We have been waiting with anticipation to hear how your delivery and PDI went as we are following close behind you. Our expected 3400RL pick-up date will be sometime in the next two weeks. The unit is already at the dealers--we are just waiting for good weather and a clear schedule to get there. Like you we are driving a good distance to pick up the rig. Don't worry about waiting til you see green grass. Knowing CO weather as we do, you could see it day after tomorrow if you get a good chinook!! All our best wishes for your travels.

Congratulations and you are right "It is big". What do you mean it is to cold? You have the new ZERO rating. Therefore you can start on the inside mod's now. That is why they put a furnace in it. That is also great about the tv and basement additions. I know both of you are exicited about it and hope you have many happy times in it.

Congratulations Brad & Dory,

I know how exciting a new Monty is. How soon can you plan a trip out of the snow to really try it out?

Even though it has been cold here in California (not Colorado cold by any means), we have taken some overnight trips just to get the practice and to just sit in it a go "WOW, we really own this thing". We have to keep the Monty in a storage yard but, so far we have visited it every weekend day since we got it. In part to practice backing up, in part to show family and friends what we are so excited about and in part to put things into.

Hope you get some nice weather soon so you can use your new Monty.

Thanks Everybody!

Too much snow here to even get the slides out without blocking the street -

But, we have covered storage. IF....and I say if...we can get it in there tonight with the snow piled in front of it, we can get to work! Tons of goodies in the garage just waiting.

I've posted some photos of the TV http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/...85&uid=6528899 and slide out tray. Also, it appears the sound system is an upgrade to earlier models, however I don't know the brand yet. Note the nice jack handle hangers in the basement that Keystone added over previous models.

Bert - already took your advice and ordered the fifth airborne at CW last week. They will install whenever it gets here!

Love your photos--especially the ones of Wolf Creek Pass!! It is sure a pretty rig. Bet the neighbors were blown away by the size of that baby sitting on the side of the street. Good thing you have the luxury of covered storage.

Congratulations. I thought the slides would act as snow plow blades. LOL.
Enjoy.
Cheers,

Brad,

Nice pictures! Congratulations on a beautiful rig. Now I can’t wait until we get ours. It’s going to be a long wait until May.

Re the installation...the correct way to add air pressure is to hook up to the TV, then inflate the air bag until the line on the shock is even with the outside of the tube. Sounds confusing, actually very easy once you see everything. The air pressure is adjusted based on pin weight...more pw, more air pressure. The reason I mention this is when I picked up my rig, the dealer said the air pressure is "set and will never have to be changed." Should have known he was wrong when I found the installation instructions still sealed in plastic.

Congrats, Brad and Dory! What a beauty - even "filthy"!!! I'm thinking a short road trip is in order so that Dory can see her beautiful new rig, too! Enjoy!

Brad - love the pictures but man, what kind of owner are you? Haven't we taught you anything on this forum? Just look at tall the mud behind those wheels! Man I would be getting that off there right now! Get some hot water - soap and go to work.
