Any floorplans that seem "darker" and/or closed in
Just wondering if anyone has lived in a Montana that they may have found later seemed to feel "darker" on a gloomy day due to the windows (or lack thereof) or gave them a feeling of being closed in due to the floorplan (or windows)?
As many of you know, my husband and are partial to the 3295. I have concerns about both of these things if we choose to live in it full-time.

On the days when it is cloudy, rainy, or snowy for those of us up north it will become dark in the coach. I have the 3400RL, and even with all the day shades open it can still get pretty dark in there. In my opinion, it does not seem any darker in my coach on a rainy day then it does in my stick house. Turn on a few lights and you will be just fine.

Tinted windows are great on sunny days, but will cause the interior will be darker on cloudy days. I wouldn't give up the tinted windows though.

Yes, it can be dreary, so to "fool" my mood, I have several strands of xmas lights strung around the windows, turn them on and it gives a warm atmosphere. that and an Ott light if necessary, and it does not bother us.

each unit will have good and bad. Ours is great in the kitchen/ diningroom with huge windows, and livingroom is good. The bedroom only has the two small windows, but it also has the skylight over the shower that lets some light in.

Our 3000RK has lots of big windows all around. I have never felt closed in even with the shades down.

On a dark gloomy day, any home will be darker especially with tinted windows as stated before. But tinted windows are a good thing. Maybe you could ask, which unit on a sunny day looks brighter no matter which way it's facing (north/south) etc. I do know for a fact some units are just more brighter inside because of the furniture layout, the color of carpet/fabric. My 3500RL is very bright in the rear if the rear is not sitting on the north side, but there are other units that are pretty bright throughout (den/kitchen) except the bedrooms (which are all basically the same and darker than rest of the unit). I don't know the model number, but which ever one has the kitchen that wraps around almost the entire road side of the trailer (and doesn't have a island) is very very very roomy and bright. My previous trailer did not have tinted windows.....and boy was it pretty and bright in there. I contribute the tinted windows to a lot of reduction in light on this units. The home I sold this year had a huge master bedroom with one small window and I'm telling you it was always dark in there sun or not. It faced the north (of course)...but you can't move a house But, when it gets dark in my trailer I turn on the lights like I did at my home. By the way, any other questions just post them. Believe it or not the forum members here also learn from the replies that are sent to your posts.........keep'em coming. The forum is more than happy to answer your questions and provide you with advice (good or bad) ha! Good Luck! Allison

We fulltimed in a 3295RK for 3 1/2 years and never felt any gloomy. There is more light from the windows than you'd think. Plus, we use table lamps and a floor lamp, just like in our stick home. In my mind it's not a problem, but that's just me.

Thanks Steve. That really helps knowing that someone who has lived in a 3295 for a few years never found this an issue. I love lots of light in my living area and I think I will get that in the 3295 (or probably any of the Montana's for that matter).
