We have been Waze'd!

Headed out camping this past weekend took us 3 hours longer because of slow/stopped traffic on the Interstate.

Well we found a GREAT smartphone APP called WAZE! It gives you so much information while traveling the highways.

We will not supplement our current Garmin GPS with WAZE on our iPad/iPhone.

It is totally free! You can use it for Navigation, Current traffic Information, Refuel stations, even ongoing speed traps.

Suggest you give it a try!

Good find! We use it often since we spend so much time in congested Southern CA. Pretty sure Google started incorporating Waze Data in their map apps to display traffic data. Word of warning. Make sure you close Waze (completely close not just background) when not in use as it will run your battery down pretty quickly. At least on my iPhone it does.

I use waze all the time and it is better than my Garmin for my car.

I found it several months ago and use it all the time. Like many features of it. I too would suggest folks try it out.
Thanks for sharing.......

I have used it and it does give lots of info......but sometimes I just want a simple map with just the highways shown. So I switch back and forth depending on what I need.....

Discovered the app two weeks ago when traveling to Flordia. I was amazed how well it works. Hope it doesn't become too much a distraction for drivers trying to make entries and updates especially those using smaller screen smart phones.

I tryed it a couple years ago in Portland but at that time in downtown area it would tell me to turn after I had already past the intersection. But I sure did like many of the other features. To test it out we used both of our phones one using waze and the other using google map, at that time Google was much easier for me to follow. I will have to try waze again.
