Question A/C Return Air Vents

Has anyone installed additional return air vents for the A/C units in their Montana? Based on all my research in this form (Which is excellent by the way) I installed the cpvc pipe to prevent the duct from collapsing in the return air vents duct and the supply vent duct. I also trimmed the supply vents to prevent them from extending too high in the duct in our 2017 3197RD.

I appreciate your input!

Do you know where I can purchase the matching Return Air Filter Grills that came in my 2017 Montana?
Been searching but I have yet to identify the make of these grills.

Goose, you did use aluminum duct tape to seal inner vent ring to the duct so that you are not losing air into the attic? Mine weren't taped very well at all. If you have, then you are on the road to better flow.

jcurtis934:

I did touch up (re-tape with the existing tape) the return and supply vents when I inserted the CPVC pipe to prevent the duct from collapsing. Mine were about half open to the attic. I do plan on re-taping all of them this spring.

the A/C in our 13 342 Big Sky has always worked OEM.We do note that the hotter it gets the harder the A/C has to work to keep a comfortable environment. We were at a rally in Shawnee, Ok a couple of years ago were the outside temp was 107 plus. Temp shot on the outside walls of this pretty dark colored Big sky were 121 Degrees plus and 90 degrees on the inside walls. Both A/C's worked hard to maintain 80/82 degrees inside temp. Here in Central Florida last week at 85 degrees outside temp one A/C. keeps us at the set temp of 76 degrees no problem . These are Recreational Vehicles and do not have the insulation of our S&B's. We did get the vents that blow straight down and do not project up into the vents. It helped .
