Check That Water Regulator

I finally spent the money and got a better brass water regulator that is adjustable and has the gauge. We used it last year for about 3 months and have been using it this season for almost 2 months.

I was dumping my tanks yesterday and noticed the gauge was reading just under 100psi. Needless to say I immediately turned the water off and grabbed my screwdriver to adjust it down. I got it dialed down to 55psi after
adjustments.

I'm not sure if I had it set way too high last year and just never was in a CG with that high of pressure of what, but I dodged a huge problem and glad I caught it. From now on if I make adjustments to it I will be extra careful how far I go.

We've had one of those for almost two years now. We have been in a couple parks that have pretty high water pressure, in one of those now. I started noticing that even though I adjust the regulator down, it tends to start creeping up. I have resorted to adding my old fixed regulator at the convenience center connection of the hose, where I have another pressure gauge, just to get the pressure down to a safe level. Don't know if the adjustable regulator is failing, not sure how to fix it, short of just replacing it.

We've only ever found two parks that the water pressure was dangerous and both of those were really bad. Frequently saw rigs leaking water. One was in Lone Jack,Missouri and the other in Las Cruses, NM. Don't need the regulator often, but when you do, you really do.

There's another "Resort" in Phoenix that's at least 100 psi as well. IMHO any park with city water can be that way - you've got to be careful.
