Roof Coating

Hi How many have used a product called Black Jack Roof Gard 700? It says it will last for seven years. Roof must be pressure washed and if their is any Mold, that must be cleaned off before coated. I haven't had any leaks and I have used Dicor chalk a few times were it looked like it needed it. I am thinking about a full roof coat. Just wanted to see if any one has used the product above. Thanks.

Why do you think you need this? Is your roof worn to the point where you can see the black under layer?

My question also. I don't intend to ever coat mine.

Roof still looks fair, just curious. Some one in the park had it done on a SOB that was 15 yrs old. It really brightened up the roof looks brand new, if it's cleaned right and two coats. I used Dicor on all edges and around roof jacks, thought it might help the edges hold better? That's is why I asked the question. Thanks.

I use gallon of hot water, 1/4 cup dawn and four caps full of bleach. I just make sure to rinse sides to avoid wax stripping. Works great for cleaning top and awnings. Never used a coating.

Most roof coatings are a last effort to get a little more time out of there rubber roof. if you need to replace your roof i would look in to the rhino lining, i hear there getting great results with this product.

I know a guy who just bought a 24 foot camper. The dealer wonted $4800 to put a LineX coating on the roof. Are you out of your mind? 4800 for a 24 foot camper!!

Rhino lining on the roof? What a clever idea. I use Line-x on my truck and now that you mention it that might be a good idea but I thought it only came in black. I would not want a black rooftop since I spend most my RVing in desert-like climates.

But then again, mlh is right, there's that cost thing. $200 a foot sounds a little much. On my rig, that could be about $7,600, Ouch!

Try $5500.00 for a new rubber roof. Had it done on our last trailer. The cost is mostly labor. They have to remove everything on the roof and reinstall with new covers and gaskets. Labor intense.
