Warm and toasty update

At the Tampa RV show in January we were informed that Montana now puts a double seal around the slides..both outer and inner seal. That should go a long way to eliminate cold air and drafts around the slides. Don't know exactly when they started doing that. I would like to think that my whining about 'warm and Toasty" and drafts had something to do with it.....who knows.

That along with the new insulation material we saw demonstrated at the fall rally last year should show a huge improvement in the all season capability of the Montana. Does not do anything for us but such is life.

keystone/Montana does listen to suggestions from Consumers. If you have a reasonable suggestion let them know.

Rich, I believe what we have could be considered a double seal. Seal behind the slide facing, and the outer wiper seal. Not saying we don't get cold drafts tho.

We were told this was something new Will. I asked if we could have our 06 ungraded aand they said it would require removing the slides and would therefore be expensive.

That is going to be interesting to see how they accomplish it. Presently you have two seals, one on the outside (inside edge) of the slide, and one on the inside (outside edge) of the slide. The wiper seal is just there to squeegee the water and stuff of when it is coming in. It affords a little protection form wind and rain, but it is not a major seal. Interesting.

Glad to hear that. Too late for us too. We spent a week in MD over Christmas and it was COLD! Everytime I sat at the computer desk I thought I was in a refrigerator!

Sounds similar to the mod I did right from the gitgo. I put 1" x 3/4" door insulation foam around the inside lip of all slides, giving me a fairly complete seal. My total cost was less than 50 bucks.
Glad they seem to be listening.
