Adding 4 pole connector to rear hitch

Any hidden problems with adding wiring to existing Monty rear lights to enable me to plug in another trailer. Should I add a Modulite or Powered Converter?

Don't think so, but use something that is fused, they both are.
WHEN DO I NEED A TAILLIGHT CONVERTER?
Most trailers operate on a two wire system where the brake lights and turn signals operate on the same wire. When the towing vehicle has separate wires for brake lights and turn signals, a taillight converter is required.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT CONVERTER
The converter you choose depends on the type of trailer you'll be towing and the car or truck you'll be towing it with. Be sure to consult your owner's manual for their recommendations.

On my last 3 fivers, I've used a flat 4 way tapped directly into the rear tail light wires as needed ... brake, park, LH turn, RH turn. I've attached the pigtail ground directly to the frame. Pull the tail light away from the rear cap for access, then fish wires down and out bellypan. It's worked well for boat and jetski trailers for better than 14 years.

It should be painfully evident by now that I am just a bumbling idiot with a rain-cloud hovering over my Punkin..

I'm sorry to hear that. Comparatively speaking then, my pumpkin must have been left in the street and the rain washed the smashed pieces down the storm drain.
