WINDOWS ON 1999 MONTANA 5TH WHEEL

I JUST PURCHASED THEIS TRAILER FROM A 75 YEAR OLD COUPLE WHO HAD NOT USED IT FOR 4-YEARS, THEY FINALLY WERE ABLE TO SAY GOODBY TO THE TRAILER. THIS IS MY FIRST TRAILER IT HAD BEEN SITTING OUTSIDE ALL THIS TIME WITHOUT PROTECTION FROM THE ELEMENTS. WHEN I WASHED OFF THE ACCUMULATED DIRT THE "CAULK / GASKETS" UNDER THE EDGES OF THE WINDOWS WAS CRACKING AND FALLING OUT. HOW DO I REPAIR THE WINDOW SEALS BEFORE DAMAGE IS DONE INSIDE?

Go to any RV store and buy a roll of the appropriate size material- Remove old gaskets, one piece at a time- Replace with new material, being sure to cut each piece a 1/2 inch too long- When the material relaxes in the groove, it will be easy to compress to fit- JHMO- Good luck and welcome to the MOC site- Don

I did our SOB at seven years and I pulled all the windows out, cleaned all the putty off. I bought a Putty/Butyl tape which doesn't dry out like straight putty or use straight butyl tape but do not use silicone. I put a double layer on as it was aluminum siding then use a drywall cutter and clean off the excess.
