spray in bedliners for truck
Picking up our new truck the 1st part of May & want to have a spray in bedliner, but want to know personal experiences with LineX vx. Rhino lining?
Hope this doesn't open a BIG can of worms. But would appreciate some in put.
Right now we can get Rhino cheaper than LineX.
Thanks.

Ed,
I didn't check out the pricing between the two, so, maybe I'm not much help, but I do have the Line-X, and after 18 months of hard use, there is no sign anywhere of any wear or tear.
Make sure you have the rails sprayed...little extra money, but worth it!
Hope this helps.

I've been very happy with the Rhino liner, in three trucks so far. But I'd also choose the LineX if that were the better deal at the time. I think they're both good liners.

Another vote for the line-X. I love mine and have had it in the past three trucks. Just ask the dealer that is spraying it on for some references and look at the trucks that person has done. If you see cracking and peeling, then I would find another installer. I have never had a Rhino liner so I really am not much help in the comparison.

Either one will work, get the one with the best deal. I have a Rhino.
On edit: The Rhino has a lifetime guarantee, also.

Both Rhino and Line-ex work firne, but the Rhino lining did start falking on my last truck after about 8 months. I feel that that was a problem with the tech preparing the bed for the lining.
I have Line-ex in this truck and have had no problems in 31/2 years. Still looks great and no peeling or chips or any other complaints

I had a line-x put in my truck when new, had it sprayed before putting in the hitch. No problems at all, it is not as shiny, but good as new. This is the only spray liner I have had, so can say it is any better than others.

I've had a Rhino lining in two trucks and a Line-x in my current one. I don't know how the Line-x will hold up long term, but in general, after seeing and having both, I like the looks and feel of the Rhino better and if I had to do it again would probably go that route. Now that's not saying the Line-x won't hold up, it just doesn't appear as thick and it seems a little more slippery under foot to me. I hope I end up loving it since I own it.

Of the two liners I have had, Rhino was the better.

Another option to look into is the 'Bed Rug'. I have had this installed for two years in my truck and it has performed excellent. This provides a cushioned truck bed and so far has lived up to the manufacture claims. This is great for the knees when climbing in the truck and it protects the bed from objects hitting the sides or dropping onto the floor.
Just another option to take a look at for a liner.

I had a Rhino in my last truck whick was black and after 3 years it was starting to look a little chalky. I was going to have Rhino in my new truck but I wanted it white, the color of the truck, Rhino would not do it. I found out that Rhino will not do colors because they all fade and change colors so they stopped doing them. Line X has a new 2 step process to match the color of the truck and they guarantee it will not fade or change colors. One minor problem, it is twice the price of a black liner. I did have mine sprayed in white and I am really happy with it, time will tell how it holds up.

Thanks for the suggestions. Sure appreciate it. We'll probably go with the Rhino, since right now thats the best price. We'll see what happens.

I had both. I like this line x as I have not had fading/chalking after 2yrs like the rhino did. But the rhino had better friction so things stayed in place better. Oh both trucks were outside trucks so lots of sun exposure.

Our Rhino has been good to us, but it is only a year old. The reason we had it put on was the quality of work by the installer. Check out their work, it is more important than the liner selected.

We've had our Rhino liner for 12 years. Hauled dirt, rocks, broken concrete, sand, you name it and it still looks good. A little faded but for its age not bad. It's black. They advised against colors especially white. Said it would turn yellow.

Ed - SUBSAILOR, I too have had both Rhino Liner & Line-X, and as others, I have a preference. My experience was that the Rhino was somewhat softer and did tear when we moved some heavy barrels around on it. My current truck has the Line-X and I've found no tendency for it to mar or tear. Just my opinion. Mike

I went with Line-X. I am totally impressed with the texture and look of it. The manager of the place I chose has a reputation for being anal retentive (after my own heart...LOL), and his workmanship is really outstanding. I had also considered Rhino, but was told by many that it was really lumpy. Some compared it to cottage cheese...LOL I had the holes for the hitch drilled, then had the liner sprayed on so the edges of the holes would be sprayed, then had the hitch installed. A little more involved, but now I know the edges of the holes are protected. It has a lifetime, nationwide guarantee, so it's worth the cost to me.

Never saw a Line-X but my Rhino still shines after a year's sunshine and abuse. Had the rails sprayed and am so glad I did.
