Finally heading south

just left central washington state and are presently at a beautiful site near Salem, Or. We will slowly head south and hope to be in the McAllen, Tx area sometime in December for a month or so. We are both excited and anxious. Hope to meet new Montana friends along the way............Les

Hopefully we can meet some MOC members also. We are heading for McAllen Tx. in about four or five weeks, staying first in OK. with family through Christmas, maybe our paths will cross.
Have a great trip & a safe one.

Hi Bob and Pam, hopefully we can meet up somewhere. We are very new at this and are looking for good rv sites somewhere on the south Texas coast. We belong to several rv memberships so we should be able to get some pretty good rates. Any imput is appreciated and as we get closer to Texas we will post our locations and hopefully we can meet up.........here is our web blog...Les and Sue http://spaces.msn.com/members/fullti...02_owner=1&_c=

Cruzin2...Would love to meet you guys. We will also be visiting relatives in OK (Bartlesville) before we head to Texas. We will probably leave Bartlesville sometime around the middle of November but will be in Texas until the middle of January. Hope we can meet up somewhere.........Les and Sue

Hi Bob & Pam

When are you leaving for McAllen Tx.? I see you live in Sioux Falls, we were in Sioux Falls Sept. 23-28, we live in northeast Nebr. Hope our paths will cross some time.

We will be in McAllen in mid Nov. until April. Maybe we can meet up sometime. The big group doesn't normally get in until after Jan. 1.

Hi, Larry and Lavonne. We are leaving our daughter's near Chicago on 10/31 and heading to Oklahoma, near Guymon, to visit family for a couple of weeks and then we'll meander on down to South Texas. Hope to be there mid-December if not before. We don't actually live in Sioux Falls, we're just based there. I'm looking foward to meeting lots of MOC'ers this winter since we missed the rally in September.

I hope you've checked out the Rio Grande Valley thread by now. There's a large group gathering in the Valley. One big event is loosely scheduled for January 12th at the RGV RV show, probably meeting at the Montana display. It's our first year to be in the valley so others will be able to provide more details. We look forward to meeting you and seeing our 'old' friends from the rally.

We are leaving here about the last week of Nov. and heading to McAlester OK. for Christmas with our son & family. Will leave there some time in the last week of Dec. for McAllen TX. Hope to meet up some time in south Texas, have a safe trip and enjoy.

The Valley is quite an extended area, do most of you who go there, have a tendency to stay closer to McAllen than the other end of the Valley? This seems to be the trend I am hearing. If Cheryl & I start looking into the area, we sure would want to lean toward where the MOC is concentrated.

Most of the MOCers are around Mission, TX. To the west is Bentsen Palm Village where many Montana owners will be parked, but it is full. We are at Victoria Palms, which is to the east, about 15 miles away from BPV. Along the main highway there are 48 RV parks appx. We just got our reservationations for mid-Jan/mid-March a couple of weeks ago. Last year they had a monthly meeting at a local restaurant. At our mini-rally at Zion NP this week, we talked about having a weekly game night that would bring MOCers together for more food and fellowship. Don't have arrangements started yet, just the idea. Anything in the valley will be close. Others may come along with more ideas.

We will leave Independence, MO, on January 2nd (weather permitting) and arrive at Bentsen Palm Village near Mission, TX, on January 5th. We'll be there until March 5th.

Come on lotto! I want to join all you folks down in the valley for the winter. I love the looks of the snow but do not like driving in it or the freezing temps winter has to bring me. Maybe someday I too can be a snow bird. Enjoy your winter- - or do I mean second summer folks. =)

Sorry I didn't get back sooner, Judy. Thanks for the info on the Valley. We will be looking at this area for next winter (06/07).
