I just hate it when my phone is smarter than me. I think you'll like your choice John

John,
I think you made a "SmartPhone" choice. (Good one)

Now download the iPhoto app (I think it is for the iPhone) and you'll soon be looking for a desktop iMac.

And with Mother's day coming up, get Ann an iPad. With the iPhone and iPad you can do Facetime, so she can keep track of you.

Earlen has had the iPad since Day One when they came out. The 16th of this month the new iPad (3rd Generation) comes out. The Keynote on the www.apple.com web page give a good idea of what it and the iPhone can do.

The APP RV Companion is nice but the best feature I like about it is the bi-directional level.

Have fun - I know you will.

Give Ann a hug for us.

John,

We were Verizon customers for about 12 years....and then one day while walking through Costco....that little android smartphone caught our eye....bought two of them at a reduced price. Unfortunately, we gave up our Verizon account and went with T-Mobile and the Android operating system. That was a HUGE mistake. We are suffering through the remains of a 2-year contract which will be up in 173 days.

As full time RV'ers we have had the chance to try our T-Mobile coverage in many places. We constantly ask others about their coverage and have concluded that Verizon beats AT&T (and of course T-Mobile) for the places we travel most often. If you live in Texas, then AT&T is probably the best option as their coverage there is next to none. AT&T also works very well in the larger cities.

The Android system is great, and I have no real complaints with the way it works, except when I watch my sons use their iPhones, I salivate at the easy of operation. My personal opinion is that the iPhones OS is much slicker and more user friendly. Also, we are Apple people, and the integration is much better between Apple, iPhone and Mac and iPad.

In 173 days, we will be switching to Verizon and will be purchasing new iPhones! (they weren't available through Verizon when we changed to T-Mobile)

Good luck with your new purchase, we are wondering how we ever survived without these smartphones. BTW, a telephone call is real low on the priority list of what it can do for us!

Verizon Network. I just upgraded from a Droid X to a Razor Maxx. That was the best thing I'm done since I started using the smart phones. Smart phone use alot of battery. The Maxx has far better battery life. I love mine.

John:
That I-Phone will become your constant companion and you will wonder how you survived this long without it. My wife is not a tech person but I believe she would rather give me up than the I-Phone.

Wow! I cannot understand why AT&T gets such bad marks. I have been an AT&T customer when it was formerly called "Cingular." With very few exceptions, I have had very good coverage, from the Eastern Seaboard, Western, and across the Central Plains. I do remember Whidbey Island NAS being splotchy, but the signal was there if you just moved about a little bit.

However, there are data limitations with AT&T, like 5 Gb a month, but I have never exceeded it. I understand Verizon has unlimited data plans.

Wayne,
Just from our experience, we normally will camp in the out-of-the-way places, and most of the time, the Verizon signal is superior. In metropolitan areas, our experience is that AT&T is equal to the Verizon signal except in Texas. In Texas, AT&T is king.
