Air Conditioner fan not working

I am hoping someone will have an answer to my AC problem. Today we turned on the AC and could hear the compressor running however the fan would not turn on. I tried to switcch the fan on maunualy and only heard a click. Does anyone know how where the fan is and how to gain acces to it?

The fan is on the roof inside the AC cover. The motor turns two fans one cools the fins on the roof and the other blows inside the unit through the ducts.
You need to remove the cover and you will be able to see it.
