Caps on roof
I was wondering what the caps are on pipes both on the front and on the back part of the roof. I know that they are not the vent pipes for the plumbing. They are about 4-5 inches in diameter. When I was washing the roof, I noticed that they spin. Is it right for them to spin?
Thanks, Richard

I believe those are the attic vents that are features of Montana. They help keep moisture out of the rafter area. They are bigger around than the plumbing vents, but I think I only have one near the back.

We didn't answer the original question. Yes, they are suppose to spin, that is what keeps the attic vented.
Happy trails.......................

Hahahahha - OK Lonnie - ya got me! Funny, while I was posting this I wondered if I had a picture that showed them! I'm blind in one eye and can't see out of the other !
Richard, I stand corrected - I have one in the back AND one in the front.

Brad, anytime I can help your tire old eyes just let me know. You could probably see better if you turn on the remote control lower portion of your glasses.LOL

Clyde - I missed it but got it now. I just replied and thanks for writing.
Richard, these are what the vents look like:

They probably do turn or spin, as I think they just snap on, but I've never really played with them. (probably couldn't see them if I was standing in front of them )

Mine screw on. They have a 1/4 in. screw made in the middle and screw into the part on the roof.
You may want to check yours by turning clockwise and see if they snug up.
If they are just spinning you may loose one.
