Early birthday present

Well, with my birthday looming closer, Marsha asked what I wanted a couple of weeks ago. Now, I am at an age where I don’t want too much; I have a great wife and son, a new F–250 and the Montana (wait, I picked the truck but she picked the Monty), and a stack of books to read, so I told her that I really did not need anything, but I also needled her and said she could buy me a Trek bicycle. She just gave me a scathing look.

After a few days, though, I remembered that I really did want a SuperGlide cover for the hitch and suggested that, so she told me to order it, which I did last week. Well, it arrived today, and I hope this will solve the problem of keeping the elements off the SuperGlide while camping; that hitch costs too much to just sit in the bed unprotected where rain can get in it.

I will say that it certainly does look nice!

Happy Birthday, J.D., whenever it actually arrives. I must agree that you have a lovely wife and an intellegent and handsome son. What more could you ask, indeed!

Still, Marsha was thoughtful to give a present that will be both an adornment and a practical addition to your Montana set up.

Looking forward to a warm night's rest,

padredw and countrygirl

Happy Birthday in advance! I peeked and see it is June 14th. I have every intention of checking the birthday lists and wishing the birthdayees a happy birthday but I usually forget to check. I wonder... if I bought a superglide hitch cover for myself do you think Vicki would get me a superglide hitch for Fathers Day (that's closer than Christmas)?

Thanks guys! I appreciate it. You know, I still look at myself as young, so 43 really does not seem THAT old to me. Of course, I have been teaching longer than some of my students have been alive… Hmmmmmm…

And, Steve, I suppose you can try, but do you think you might get a similar scathing look from Vicki if you were to present yourself with a SuperGlide?

Wordsmith, you may get a laugh out of this, but "inside", I still think of myself as young. Don't know why I can't breathe as well as I used to climbing these Colorado mountains.

We are having a great time here in Buena Vista with our daughter, Margaret. I drove my pickup up the side of Mt. Princeton this afternoon. Some pretty "hairy" driving. It was a business trip: maintenance on the wireless transmitter which they use to provide wireless internet access to many customers in the valley.

Hey Wordsmith,
Happy Birthday whenever it is. I have one birthday left in the 40's then I become 25 again. You know the part where you stated " I have been teaching longer than some of my students have been alive… Hmmmmmm…" Well I have a few people who work for me where I have worked longer than they are alive and in fact have a son older than some of them and I still feel and believe I am young.

Steve,
I like your thought process. I am going to have to try that. If I buy a new ATV cover I wonder if my wife will buy me another ATV (you know, you can never have enough)?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Wordsmith.

An update on the SuperGlide cover: I went ahead and attached the velcro to the hitch today and put the cover over it after reinstalling it in the bed yesterday. It really does make for a nice presentation, which I suppose PullRite was hoping for as it becomes a nice advertisement for them.

I am not sure if it is $149 worth of nice—I know Marsha has serious doubts—but I am happy with my birthday present!
