Hurricane Rita

Good morning friends,

I've been watching the Weather Channel. There are several thoughts that come to mind.

1. Is everybody going to be safe?
2. This thing is moving across the Gulf with 165 mph winds. What can stand up to that?!?! That is about the same speed that a NASCAR car travels around the track!
3. How many more FEMA trailers are going to be needed?

Maybe I need to consider what I can do to help. I have a feeling we are going to have the second community that is going to need help and prayers.

Dale: There are many families in the lower Texas area that are as poverty sticken as those that are in New Orleans area. It is unfortunate that these storms are hitting the areas that can't really handle anything else that is thrown at them.

This really is a tragic situation! However, it looks like the Katrina loss and disaster has taught some to pay attention to Mother Nature when she lashes out in fury! The plans I see on the news to evaucate the poor AND their pets, and the hospitals and nursing homes, look wonderful. May we NEVER forget how destructive these storms can be. In the meantime, lots of prayers! I know of a couple of MOC members that are down in that area, we are thinking of ya!
