What is the lenght of your SOFA??
We got a chance this weekend to look at another Montana at the campground.
In our 3400RL the Sofa has a overall lenth of 65".
Very short for anyone to lay down on.
The other unit we looked at the sofa was 75" long.
Different layout but the slide was the same lenght.
At 10" longer, it makes it comfortable to lay on.
What is your lenght??
Thanks

carlson,
could be TOTALLY wrong about this, but I think I remember hearing that they shortened the couch as part of the new bedrooms. The new bedrooms took up a lot more room in the total length of the rigs, so they had to change something. The length of the couch was one of the things that gave, from a full size to like a love seat size.
your measurements seem to support this??

They have a 2005 3670RL, I think that is the model, but anyway it is a RL like ours.
Even in the lastest brouchure it, it shows the sofa to the table side of between the windows, our doesn't even come to the light between the windows.
I know that they can change things at anytime.

Carlson,
In light of these facts, maybe a call to Keystone is in order???? Sweetly ask what size you were supposed to get?? Maybe someone put in a couch from another model by error??? That is kinda bizarre that your friends with a 2005 and similiar model have a longer couch. Geesh, always some new surprise, eh???
Let us know what you find out??

We have an 04 3400 and our couch is 73(or75) inches long. It is queen size. If the square footage and length of unit have to stay the same, then it stands to reason that they have to juggle around something. I agree our couch is a great length to stretch out on for a nap!!

Myrna,
That is more like it.
The one we have is more like a Love Seat not a Sofa.
What happens is that we thought that the 65" sofa was a standard lenght but until you see other Montana people and we all like to show off our rigs and you look and see that they have a longer sofa, then it raises a question.
Thanks for the reply.

We have a 2005 3400 bought in Sept 04. Our sofa is the longer one. When it is placed at the end, where the chairs were orignally, there is just enough room for the little lamp table. We wouldn't have bought this unit if the couch was too short to stretch out on. Ed is 6' and fits just fine.

Sue and Ed,
I have an '05 3400RL too. Out of curiosity, can you close the slides with the couch there?
Thanks,
Ken

Ken,
What is the build date of your 3400RL.
You can find it on the tag on the front left side of the trailer by the LP gas bottle door.

Seems Keystone can do strange things with the furniture. Earlier someone posted that their two recliners were different sizes, one back was higher than the other.

Glen ... Funny you should mention that thread awhile back about the different sized chairs. I don't remember who started that thread and I don't believe I ever heard the outcome. Did they get the situation corrected? Inquiring minds want to know ...
On the length of the couch issue ... I've noticed the smaller couches in the new Montanas that we've looked at and, although I like the overall look, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to try to nap on one of them.

Ken,
We haven't tried that yet but others have. It looks like we may have to stand the cushions up.

We have a 04 3400RL and we swapped the chairs and couch. We have no problem with the slides. You just have to be sure the cushions are pushed as far back as you can.

Vicki, I never did hear the resolution for the different size chairs. I think they may have mixed a pair from a Montana and a Mountaineer or two other lines of fifth wheels, but that's only a guess. We have noticed that two different lines from the same manufacturers may have different style chairs with the same fabric. By the way, we walked through several different lines of RVs on our recent trip and it is almost unbelieveable to see the fabrics that they use in these rigs. They're either offensive or impractical or motel-like. And cheap motel at that. Judy

We were at our Dealers today and while waiting for some work to be done we looked in their Montanas. Well some have the full size couch and some have the smaller ones. There seems to be no rules though, some have the new bedrooms which are larger and the small couch and some have the same bedroom but the large couch.
