05 F350 is in driveway

Picked up our new o5 Ford F350 today. Drove to Salt Lake City to get it and drove it right home. Nearly a 500 mile round trip.

First impression - I am elated! Smooth ride. Got the Lariat, diesel, auto, FX 4X4 and hope it is all and more my CTD was.

That was a long trip, but I have a sneaky feeling the second part was a fun and comfortable ride! Congratulations!

Congrats on the new TV. Nothing like a new truck. I think you'll be very happy with your choice.

Do a search on posting photos, Steve has posted the directions a couple of times. There is that tinypic(warning, there are two sites very much the same and one had "questionable" content, one is tinypic think the other is tinypics?????) site. I found it pretty easy to use.

Steve may or may not be along to help you with a new post, that was why I suggested the search here at MOC. Steve is in Goshen and is not sure if he will be checking in any time soon.

Steve R., if you pick this up, suggestion about wifi and Goshen, the Holiday Express is supposed to have free WIFI (last time we were there, in Sept 2004, they did anyway, or I think they did, I could not bring it up on my old laptop, card software was not installed correctly). Might be worth a drive BY to see if that is still available.

Carol, thanks. We could sit in the hotel parking lot, assuming we're staying in the Montana while Keystone is working on it. My 24 hours of wifi here at the fairgrounds will run out shortly (hopefully not before I post this) and we have no way to renew it.

Illapah, I have the instructions saved so it's easy to post it here. Use www.tinypic.com , do not add an 's' to tinypic or you'll get the porno site.

---
First you have to have the photo out on the internet somewhere, not on your personal pc. If you don't have a place to put a picture, I'd recommend www.tinypic.com . You can place pictures there for free. The picture cannot be more than 250k in size or they will automatically trim it down.

At tinypic, use the Browse button to find the picture on your pc. Then click the 'Host It' button. When the page comes back, scroll down and you'll see several boxes with urls in them. For posting here, click in the box for the one with the IMG tags on each end. Those tags are important for displaying a picture here.

After clicking in that box the url should be highlighted. Hold the ctrl key and press the 'c' key to copy the url. Sorry if too elementary, it's hard to tell level of knowledge from a post.

Then in your post, just paste (ctrl v) the url in your post. You can then click the Preview Reply button if you want to see what your post will look like before you submit it. When done, close the preview window and click the Submit Reply button.

I'd recommend your picture pasted into a post be no more than about 640x480 or thereabouts in size. You can tell the size by rightclicking and selecting properties (works that way on mine, anyhow). If you need to resize the picture and don't have software to do that, Irfanview is free at www.irfanview.com . This is what I usually use. After resizing I also do File/Save AS (rather than file/save or the save button). There I can tell it to save at 65% quality. That significantly reduces the size of the file itself so it will load faster for those on a slow connection (much appreciated if you'd do this).

It's a lot easier than it sounds.

If you want the picture to be part of your signature, go to your profile and paste that same url, with img tags, in the signature box.

Good luck. Post back if you have any problems with it. One of us will be along to help.

You are going to love that Built tough Ford Truck. Took ours out for a drive today.Had it for nearly 3 months and have 900 miles on it. Matched it up to our 332 ft Terry TT today. It has a hitch weight of @850Lbs and the truck settled less that 2 inches. Had to put airbags on our trustey Silverado to get it level.

Carol, we stayed in the Montana Sunday night and Monday night. After getting up about 4:30 am to be out of there by their 6 am start time, we opted for the hotel tonight. On us, unfortunately. We haven't decided about the next two nights. Today they said they should have us out by late Thursday but probably early Friday. They haven't started on it yet. They're pretty busy. All of the people here have been super.

Steve,

We agree the people at that service center could not be nicer. If you think you had trouble getting out of there by 6 AM, try doing that with 4 yorkies! Only when we were there, the start time was 7 AM.

Sorry they have not started on your repairs yet, specially since you had an appointment for so long in advance.

Been watching your posts about the factory tour, looks like some interesting improvements!

Well, last night we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at our own expense. Tonight we're also at HEI but at Keystone's expense. Our rig was not in a situation where they could put it back outside for us to stay in tonight, which we had planned to do. The living room slide was pulled out of the rig to deal with an issue of water under the slide when driving on a rainy day. I noticed the service guy had removed those light colored seals that seal the slide on the inside when the slide is extended. I asked him about that and he said when he pulls a slide out of a rig he always replaces all the seals with new ones. Everything I've seen here so far tells me this is a great company. They tell me they are not allowed (I think by law because they are not a retail service outfit) to do anything to bring a rig beyond OEM specs. Thus, they are unable to do any insulating or rerouting of our water lines because the spec is to not freeze down to 28 degrees F and we don't freeze up until temperatures well below 28. Remember these are not fulltime rigs. I had hoped they could do this for me but I'm ok with that. I would not want them doing anything they are not authorized to do. I'll deal with those pipes myself. Everyone here has been super to work with.

I guess we effectively hijacked this thread. Sorry, Ilipah. I hope I didn't create a problem.

Carol, real quick, then I'll stop hijacking this thread. We are again, tonight, in the Holiday Inn Express. It now will be next Tuesday before the house is done. We'll also be here on Keystone on Monday night. However, my folks' 60th anniversary celebration is this Sunday in Wamego, KS, almost 800 miles from here. Sooo, tomorrow morning we pack up (the house is locked inside the service center) and head to Kansas without the Montana. (Anyone out there seeing a white Ford solo and blinking lights at your Montana, that might be us). We'll stay in a hotel for three nights while we visit kids (they really don't have the room for us to stay) and grandkids on Saturday, then we all go to my folks' place on Sunday. On Monday we'll make the trek back to Goshen. Then when they're done with the house we'll hitch up and do it again, but with house in tow that time.

I wish I had asked Keystone to foot the hotel bill those three nights since they would have done so if we were staying in Goshen, but I didn't.

Mel, the bugs are all long ago history now. It's just an awesome truck! 22,000 miles (almost) in 7 months on ours and I couldn't be happier! Nice to have so many great choices, huh?
