Volkswagen selects Tennessee for US auto plant

What going on with that.. Is not Volkswagen A foreign car.. We do not need more foreign cars in the USA,, keep those 2000 jobs generated in Germany and how about those Honda's in Ohio..let the Japanese build them in Japan..We never learn...

I've never bought a foreign car but I imagine there are foreign parts in the ole Dodge. I look at this way; if they build it here it will mostly utilize the work force from here.

Toyotas, Hondas, Subarus, BMWs, Mercedes-Benzes, Hyundais, and others -- more than 40 models of foreign cars, minivans, SUVS, and pickup trucks -- are rolling off assembly lines at 15 plants in the United States. Stay tuned! Dennis

We gave the transistor to Japan - hence the "Walkman."

In the '30's Harley Davidson, in increasing it's sales, sold machine parts to Japan to produce Harley's in Japan. The most popular was the "Rikuo" which in Japanese means, "King of the Road." (Does Road King sound familiar)

Here, you can read about the Rikuo (CLICK HERE)

So don't be fooled by what is made where! Everything can be made somewhere else. Of course, watch for the "Assembled in ..." sticker.

GM cutting another 20 % from work force, and all salaried retirees will lose their medical insurance as of January 1, 2009.

Bank in California had a run on their holdings on Monday (think that was the day, they run together when the twins are here ) If your deposits were under $100,000 you were insured, if over that, well, good luck??

I am not scared, I am not worried, I am not scared, I am not worried.

Am I??

I certainly don't like the idea of a global economy either and I'm not trying and don’t wish to start a religious debate or anything like that or even push my feelings on anyone else but I believe this is merely one of the things that is happening to set things in order for end time events and things to come in the future.

If the mods or admins feel this is out of order feel free to delete it!

Actually, this means that no country can afford to go to war with us. We need some more 3rd world, developing countries who are at odds with us to buy more US companies. Maybe they would change their tune when dealing with their "best customers". Hard to cut your own throat.

I read one time that even though we fought for our freedom from England, they have bought over 27% of the USA. More than they gave up originally. On the other side of the coin, I once had a Nissan Sentra, made in Smyrna Tn that had 19% foriegn content. My F-350 Ford, made in Kentucky, has 21% foreign content. Brand loyalty still counts (USA is a brand, right). The recent selling of America stems from the lower value of the dollar on the world market. Makes us more attractive to the buyers. End of dis-jointed musings. Bob

The point is that the rest of the world recognize that we now live and do business in a global economy and they are adjusting to that. We still think we we are the center of the planet and refuse to accept that we live on the planet with every other country and they are passing us up. Anheuser Bush understands that and did what they had to do to survive and keep the plants and jobs in the USA. We need to think Global not borders.

Here are some global statistics from our government and they really are trying to do something about it!

After an exhaustive review of the research literature, here's the final word on nutrition and health:

1. Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
2. Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than us .
3. Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
4. Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.
5. Germans drink beer and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than us.

CONCLUSION : Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you. Our Government Is Trying To Correct This Problem

Just think...we wont have to push "1" for english!

I just heard something interesting, when the subject of DRILLING FOR OIL came up. We need steel pipe to complete the process. Guess what, The enviro people have caused all our major STEELMILLS to close due to pollution. Guess where we now get most of our Steel Pipe from.. CHINA.
If we ever had another WWII, where we had factoriess to built ships and Planes, I wonder if China would ship the steel to us?????? We as american people have allowed this to happen.. Shame on us.. Ok, I'am through VENTING
