New Tire Tread test recommended

Just seen on ABC this morning.

Basicly the old penny test is outdated and they now recommend using a quarter. The quarter depth at Washingtons head is 1/8 inch vs the penny at 1/16 inch.

They show stopping distance on a wet road.
New tire 195 feet
1/8 tread 290 feet
1/16 tread 378 feet

Not a new law, only information and their suggestion.

You can draw your own conclusions.

Good information, especially for those whose "house" depends on their tires being safe.
Those videos of the wet stops were dramatic!
Thanks.
