Prodigy Disconnect When Not In Use???
We had the Prodigy controller installed today. Prodigy is made in the USA BTW. It came with a little case and instructions says it can be disconnected when not in use and I assume the little case is to keep it in. On our previous TV we did not disconnect the brake controller when not towing. It was not a Prodigy and I'm not sure it could be disconnected. Do you disconnect????
Happy trails........................

I leave my prodigy installed all the time. I assumed the little pouch was just to keep it secure and out of sight in the glove box when not in use.

If it isn't in the way you can't hurt anything by leaving it hooked up all the time.
If I am not using the prodigy for several months I unhook it and stow it in the glove box. Usually during the winter storage period. The rest of the year I leave it hooked up. You have to reprogram it if you unplug it as I recall.
This Prodigy is the first one I have ever owned that has the option to unhook and stow with ease.

My Prodigy has been in my truck for 3 years with no problems. It's always ready to go when I am.

Mine has been hooked up for well over a year with no problems. Prodigy is a great controller and we like ours alot more than the previous controller. Indeed it is made in the USA and I've edited my previous post. Should have checked. That's great news for this consumer. Think you will enjoy your new controller.

Ive had my prodigy on my last two trucks and have never disconnected it and it hasn't hurt it. I don't have all of my directions anymore, but it seems like after a period of time it goes into a stand by mode..

Never disconnected the Prodigy when we had one. I assume disconnecting would be to deter theft. Or possibly to use it in multiple vehicles.
