Utah National Parks

Leaving later this week for Utah and some national park sightseeing. 30+ years ago we camped east of Cedar City at Duck Creek and visited Zion and Bryce, but that was a long time ago. We will revisit them on this trip.

Our first night will be near Page, not sure where? as we have never been in that area. Just curious as to favorite campgrounds and interesting things to see besides the obvious. Also, any great eating places along the way.

Thanks
Ray

Hi Ray,
It has been many years since we last spent a lot of time in the Page / Lake Powell area. Our most recent trip we found a park in town on the southeast side. Nothing fancy just a gravel base with a few little trees. I suspect the trees have grown a bit since we were there.

Prior trip we spent mostly on the water. Parked in the boat launch area and left our camper there. Then a week on the water about 20 miles up the lake. Enjoy.

Ray,
NPS runs a very nice CG by Lake Powell called Waweap (sp?). Concrete pads w/FHUs. By all means, take a guided tour of Antelope (slot) Canyon. Hire a guide in town. It's on the reservation. Take your camera. You'll be so glad you did. We also did a raft trip down the river, too. Very nice. We loved all of the parks of S. UT!!!

Ray,

I agree with Chris. The campground is very nice and the views around there are beautiful.

cap nchris, mainer, thanks for the tip. I had been looking on rvparkreviews and that one looked good, but we have been to many that looked good until you actually see them.

Dennis, I think we might stay at Orange Grove on our way home to visit
with my sister, brother and Janet. I will drop a line if time permits and maybe we could meet for lunch.
