Glacier National Park here we come!

My bride and I are headed to Glacier National Park, with our youngest daughter, this afternoon. We are looking forward to escaping the Texas heat for a few weeks.

We will be staying at Mountain Meadows RV Park in Hungry Horse 6/28-7/1. On our way back we plan on stopping at West Yellowstone (7/2 & 7/3) to see the rodeo and then on to Mueller State Park (7/5-7/7) in Colorado for a few nights.

If any of you are in the area drop us a note and we will look you up!

The link below is pictures of Jackson, Montana, Bannack State Park (Ghost Town), the Big Hole Valley and surrounding area
including Jackson Hot Springs Lodge, SW Montanahttp://www.jacksonhotsprings.com, where we worked for the summer last year 2010. There are many places to see in and around the Big Hole Valley.

As of today, the Going to the Sun road is still closed. They say there is plenty to see, but that road has been buried under at least 90 feet, YES FEET!!! of snow. There is a Facebook page, called Glacier National Park. Posting some amazing photos and keeping folks up to parr on the news, roads, campgrounds and such that are open. Thanks to P, I know this now! LOL

HAVE FUN!!!!!!!

You'll love Mueller State Park (We do!) Enjoy your stay in beautiful Colorado and be sure to take it slow at altitude ( just ask Ozz about this )

We departed Mountain Meadows last Monday. Enjoyed our stay,Sue and DH are great host. The road is open for 14 miles in West Glacier and 13 miles in at East Glacier. Wife of a road worker told us " the road may be open for 2 weeks in late August". She said this tongue in cheek but reality is it is probably true with all the snow they have had and it was still snowing up top when we departed. Rain below, it's snowing up top so they can't get to the road to fix the bad spots.
Have fun.

Glacier is one of my most favorite national parks. And Mountain Meadows is where we stayed, too. We spent a month there and enjoyed the area immensely. That was back in 2005. I hope Going to the Sun Road is open for you. It's truly spectacular.
