hey what kind of hitch and size for the back of my 3400 for a bike

Hidden Hitch 82201 is the adjustable width bolt-on hitch intended for motor homes but works just fine on a Montana.

John,
My apologies to you for taking over your post, but thought there might be some information here that others may need. Maybe there is a remedy here for your UltraGlide Classic!
Brad and Dennis, here is a picture of 'SILVER' mounted on the back of 'TONTOW'. This rack is called "Tilt-A-Rack". It works great! It is rated to 400 pounds, Silver weighs ~280. http://tinyurl.com/5w4yxg

Thanks Robbie - does your fold up in the back when your not using it?
That is one sexy looking scooter!
Mine's not as sleek, is probably heavier, and once I get it started it's more of an environmental insult than my truck, but I hope to take it to a few scooter rallies.

Brad,
Do you have to peddle that one to get it started?
Nice Scoot!

Thanks guys - '52 Cushman Eagle 765 Barrel Spring.
Unfortunately I think it weighs closer to the Electraglide that started this thread than it does to Robbies scooter. They hadn't invented aluminum yet, so it's all steel. It's probably all of the 400 lbs and them some, so I'm not sure if this will work unless I go to the 2-1/2" receiver and heavier hitch, and the heavier carrier.

Brad,
Now that IS a scooter!
Alice would have a hard time riding that one up on the rack!
No, it does not fold up, but the ones made for the chairs (scooter type) do. The one I purchased is designed for lighter weight 2-wheeled scooters and it only sticks out about 2 feet farther than the rear ladder.

I'm back on the forum again. As usual, my work and travel schedule has kept me away from the fun and adventure afforded those of the MOC lifestyle. But, that is just around the bend.
I've stopped contemplating how to take my ElectraGlide along with the Monty on upcoming excursions. Instead, I will re-locate Cathy's 3400RL to the Shady Cove Marina in Castillian Springs in March. It will remain there under the supervisory care of the Marina's owners, Gene and Lucy, along with our daughter, son-in-law, and all their friends. That will allow me to ride my scooter up every other weekend or so, and enjoy the journey there through the hills of western Georgia and eastern Tennessee.
When I told Cathy I was moving the camper to Tennessee, she told me she was leaving me. And, taking the dogs with her to the camper. Hey, what better reason to relocate the Monty? Maybe, if I'm contrite enough, she'll let me visit with my scooter. Hopefully, she won't turn the dogs against me. And, anyway, with her out of Georgia, I get to ride her John Deere and cut the grass. I may even do it wearing shorts.

Well, we've been on the road for 2 days now on our way from Arkansas to the USAF Academy. The swivel wheel has been performing flawlessly and I've been getting all kinds of questions about it too! I'd still feel better with a camera or even a tire pressure monitor back there, but I'm pleased thus far and it will be nive to have our Virago in Colorado. As a side note, the Fam Camp is very nice and Sharron and Bill are gracious hosts. I'll get some pics up as soon as I find my camera....got kind of busy packing (unorganized) since we had to move our youngest into college at FSU and our oldest into an apartment in Memphis to attend optometry school....all while we were working our way toward Colorado for Parent's Weekend!
