Mountaineer Chrome Rim Recall

Just received a NHTSA recall notice from Keystone for my 2006 329RLS Mountaineer:

Make: KEYSTONE
Model: MOUNTAINEER
Type: RECREATIONAL VEHICLE
Year: 2005-2006
Recall Number: 05V424000
Summary:
ON CERTAIN TRAVEL TRAILERS AND FIFTH WHEEL RECREATIONAL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH TREDIT WHEELS, THE RIMS MAY HAVE POOR WELD QUALITY AND INSUFFICIENT PRESS FIT BETWEEN THE WHEEL RIM AND DISC.
Consequence:
THE CENTER OF THE WHEEL COULD SEPARATE FROM THE RIM. THE WHEEL MAY WOBBLE AND CAUSE A VIBRATION OR THE MOUNTED TIRE COULD LOSE AIR CAUSING THE TIRE TO GO FLAT, RESULTING IN A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy:
KEYSTONE IS WORKING WITH TREDIT TIRE TO NOTIFY OWNERS AND HAVE THE WHEELS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT YET PROVIDED AN OWNER NOTIFICATION SCHEDULE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KEYSTONE AT 866-425-4369.
Notes:
CUSTOMERS MAY ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION#146;S VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), OR GO TO http://WWW.SAFERCAR.GOV.

Doesn't sound good, will have to contact the dealer tomorrow.
Of course I just dropped my truck off to have a scrape fixed that was caused by the siding flying off of my house during last Fridays 70 - 80 MPH wind storm.

campbud,
I had read a few days ago that the same recall applies to 2004-2005 Montana's with aluminum wheels, but for the life of me I cannot find that webpage. Will have to keep looking...

I recently recieved the same notice, but it said it was for 16" wheels. My trailer is at the "steeler" so I can't verify this, but I believe I have 15" wheels.

At the end of October dw and I purchased our Mountaineer and I questioned our dealer (A&S RV Center, Auburn Hills, MI) about purchasing aluminum wheels for our unit and he stated none were available as there was a problem with them. He wouldn't go any further on his explanation to me, so the problem has been known for quite siome time now.

The Rims on my Mountaineer are Chrome, the serial # for my unit falls within the range of the recall. Whether I have Tredit Rims or not remains to be seen.

The Mountaineer Fifth Wheels have 16" Rims, the Travel Trailers have 15"...

***Tredit Rim Recall Update***

Just got back from the dealer, after having the Tredit Rim Recall service done on my 2006 Mounntaineer 329RLS. The Dealer replaced my Chrome wheels with Aluminum ones (they look nice, but i know i've seen threads in the MOC Forum concerning Aluminum Rim Problems), anyway I made a "Poor" scan of the pages they provided me concerning the recall, and the replacement, and remounting procedures. If you would like to read the information, you can download he Document at: TREDIT RIM RECALL
