Brakes Intermittent in rain

Hello All

Have a 12 Ram 3500 drw, 14 3150rl. About 20k miles on trailer. When driving in rain, or on a wet road, the brake controller will show a code of SC or short circuit. The code will show for just a few seconds and then go to normal display of setting. Once on dry road works properly.

It has been suggested the wire inside the axle may be worn and the moisture creates a current path and the controller sees that as a short.

The controller is the OEM Ram. Has been perfect till this rain deal. 30 miles of wet roads, a SC a few times, then perfect for the next 2 days.

Thoughts?

I had same problem with my ram. was wire in axle. Troubleshot by eliminating one brake at a time by cutting wire near drum. If no problem reconnect and cut another. Got home from long trip and had disc brakes put on. Love them, stops on a dime now.

I had the same issue once. It was a wire inside of the brake drum that had the insulation rubbed off of it by the magnet lever/arm.
