AC Freezing Up Too Often

Hello everyone. Our rear AC had froze up three times in less than a month. Too often, so we went and talked to HW service and they said bring it in and we'll look at what is going on. When we went to pick it up they told us that THREE of the FOUR return air ducts were collapsed and that the Freeze Censor was in the wrong place because the wire was too short. That is what was causing the AC unit to over work itself. HW service replaced the short wire with a longer wire and put the freeze censor in the correct place. AC is working much easier now and is not sounding as loud while running. Cooling better as well. Dropped off on Monday and Picked it up on Wednesday. Thank you HW...

You'll find a number of threads, several current that talk about inserting PVC pipe to open the ducts, moving the freeze sensor, modifing the supply ducts and more. This has been a common issue with the whisper quiet system.

Not mine... but freeze up happens due to lack of airflow and high humidity.
