A few weeks ago my wife started to notice that her recliner in our SB was peeling in various areas. Mostly the arms and where her legs rest. The recliner was only 5 years old and she was told it was leather when she bought it. We went back to the same store with the same sales rep and discussed the situation with her. She said that research has found that some people have this issue on certain types of leather (read not totally leather) if they take certain types of blood pressure medicine. That said, she replaced her recliner with some other material and got the power leg rest option. My recliner is 14 years old and is real leather. I have no issues. The dog spends equal time on both recliners. I told her after looking at the recliners in the Montana that we may ultimately have to consider replacing them because if they are leather it is a cheap leather. But then again we don't live in the rig full time so it may not be an issue after all.

TTBOMK, no Montana has leather furniture from the factory. At best, it's bonded leather that contains enough leather particles qualifying it to be marketed as leather. Frankly, a quality vinyl is better than bonded leather.

There is still lots of not good but great furniture fairly priced furniture made in the US. Lots of it are made by the Amish. A friend owns a furniture store and it’s at least 90% of the furniture he sells. He ends his TV adds with “not China”.

There is still good leather furniture out there. Stores sell what brings them the greatest profit. Consumers are not educated in what they are purchasing.

Even with leather furniture one must keep the surfaces cleaned and protected. I wipe ours down once a week with Murphy's Oil Soap and then a leather wipe. No problems as yet and the furniture stays supple.

I have a real leather jacket that is 45 years old and looks like new.Good leather and proper care is the answer.

We are going through this also. We started to remove the furniture to replace it and found that the original furniture is cut in the back to fit Which makes it impossible to find real furniture to fit. If you have come up with ideas please share with us. We are lost other than to trade it

Jlaird,
Does Montana currently build a similar floor plan to yours? The current furniture might have the same shape (cut in back). Any Montana dealer can order you the current furniture colors.

Our pleather furniture is a peeling flaky mess too! The covers are zippered and I’m planning on contacting the manufacturer to see if they sell other cover options to replace. Anyone else done this, and what was your experience?

A resurrected post it looks like. I cut ours up with a sawzall and could not believe how cheap and shoddy the framework was, regardless of the material. Ours lasted two years, looked like new and then suddenly died. Recommend a fresh start. We purchased ultra leather replacements from Glastop, built to our specs. Plenty of options out there from furniture store and RV specialty retailers.

Your rv is a 2012. That's 7 model years old. Try to get a repair on your tow vehicle 7 yrs. later under warranty. I think Montana was great at the national rally repairing as a courtesy, RVs that were of all ages.

To Mboyko. Just wondering if Montana did anything on your 2012 furniture? And, you really thought your furniture was real leather? ummmmm

We had our 2013 redone in Mexico for about $600....looks good.

The product you use on the furniture does no good. It will crack and peel within the next year or 2. Keystone will not even discuss it. Sickening.

Mine is a 2015 and it started last year. The recliner is completely trashed. In the 3711FL, the furniture is build in, so it looks like I'm going to have to learn how to sew!

We have the same problem. With our 2016 3440RL, you would think would have better furniture. I think the cloth furniture holds up a lot better than the pleather as they call it. It is nit vinyl.

Our furniture lasted 2 1/2 years before it began peeling. Called Keystone who directed me to Lippert. They did not have to but Lippert shipped all new furniture to me, similar junk but I do have to give a big thumbs up to Lippert.

Our theater seat is peeling. Its about three and half years old, do you remember who you talked to at Lippert and their phone number. I have had no luck even getting someone to talk to me about it.
