Winterizing
I have a 2013 3100RL. I'm trying to winterize it and do not remember having any problems last year, but his year it's a pain. I've drain the water heater, removed the plug and switched the bypass. I used a blow out plug to gently blow out all the water and drained the remainder in the fresh water tank. I cannot get the water pump to pick up the antifreeze. There is a connection that says "freeze guard" above the city water connection and I've tried both. The hose is making a tight seal, it is a cut off piece of garden hose and it is not kinking. I've also tried it with the "winterize" button flipped both ways. Using the city water connection, I can get it to build pressure but it won't ever pick up the antifreeze. I tried pouring some in the hose to prime it, nothing has worked so far. What am I doing wrong?

The hose must be connected to the Freezegard connection and the winterize switch in the on position. With those done turn on the pump and open a low point drain. That gets mine started. Since you blew out the lines first it may take a bit to get antifreeze to the pump.
If it still does not start pumping, press in on the hose to help with the seal. The slightest air leak will prevent it from pumping. Some people have had to go to a thicker hose washer. I actually had to go with a thinner hose washer as the hose fitting did not have enough threads to pull a tight seal.

Try exactly what Bill stated. If your pump still won't prime and start sucking from the jugs of pink this is what I finally found worked with mine last week. I not only had to pour pink stuff in the hose, but then I had to hold the jug (with hose down in it) up over my head. The DW then turned on a faucet
inside and it began pumping pink.

Okay, how about I had to position the jug of pink RV antifreeze higher than the inlet so that gravity would assist in priming it.

Thanks to everybody, I did exactly what BB TX recommended today and it worked fine. Maybe my feeble brain will even remember it until next year...
