Stuck CK Valve HW Heater line
My hot water flow dropped to minimal. I checked all the visible valves for closure but finding none, I decided to turn it over to the dealer since we were scheduled in for some minor warranty work anyway. They found a stuck ck valve near the HW tank. Since this is apparently a rarity, they had none in stock and since it would take about 4-5days to get one delivered, the dealer was kind enough to pull one out from a new unit at the dealership. Thought I'd pass on if any one has this problem in the future.

Not quite as rare as the dealer would have you believe. A search on check valve would turn up probably a dozen or more hits.

It happened to us in the middle of last winter and I thought we'd frozen a water line until someone on this forum said to check that valve. It's actually screwed into the water heater. The line is then screwed into it. The part cost me about five bucks at a local rv dealer and a few minutes to change it. It was in the top water line. That's, what, the inlet line?
Thanks for bringing it up, Jim. I'm sure many people are unaware of this checkvalve. I sure didn't know about it until it died.

Thanks for the input. This Forum is an awesome site with tons of useful information, especially for us who are Ftiming it.
Firetrucker, you referred to a "search for check valves" with quite a few hits. Is that a search through this Forum, or some other site, and how do you access it? That info will be great to have for future use. Thanks in advance.

In the top R/H corner of this page select "SEARCH". Be sure to read each of the selection "criteria". I always use "Within the Last Year" for the search by date and I always search "Entire Message" rather than subject only. You can choose exact phrase, or all words or any words. I'm not sure I've ever had any luck trying to search archived records.

Also, if you search archived records it does not simultaneously search the current records. So I search current first and, if I don't find what I want, then I search the archives. I think the key is to search the entire message like VanMan said unless you are sure that word is in the message subject line.
