hi all,
I'm a travel nurse that travels with my wife and 8 yr old son. We are tired of packing and unpacking every 3 months. So we are seriously looking at a Montana high country 5th wheel. Hoping to gain a lot of insight into the campers from all you great folks here.

Welcome to the forum from sunny Colorado. We have many members that full time in their Montana's. You will get better answers if you include if you have a truck already, where will you be camping (states), and which model you are looking at. Several things you will want to do. Select your model first and then match your truck to the trailer. If you look at signatures, most of us are using one ton diesels. Be sure to upgrade the tires to G series if you don't get any other options. And, a TPMS system is recommended. We are on our third Montana. We long time (month(s) at a time), so the full timers will be able to tell you how they handled downsizing into a fifth wheel from a house. Us long timers still have storage at our homes. The first two additions to your rig needs to be a good surge protector and a water regulator. These will protect your trailer from unreliable campground utilities. SurgeGuard or Progressive Industries for power protection and a simple water regulator from Camping World will work. I second the recommendation on replacing the tires also. There are many threads on tires on the forum.

My significant other, love of my life from 1975 is also a traveling RN and did so out of her Honda Element for years going from rental to rental. When we reunited a few years ago I had a 40' Motorhome so I pulled it out of storage and around the country we went. Along the way w met many other traveling nurses most using 5th wheels since our travels are for months at one location. This year we traded the MH for a High Country 375FL.
Brinca is much happier having a stable environment and it is a luxury apartment on wheels compared to some of the rentals she experienced over the years.
Hope your Nursing Journey is a rewarding as ours has been.

Welcome from Arizona. We love the 5er life style although we are not full timers but I spend 7 plus months in our Montana. Best thing you can do is to be sure you get good tires on it. Buy the rig first the truck second.
