Ordering Montana
I finally sold my 2014 Alpine and can now move toward a new Montana. Going into fall and winter and considering where I live (Pacific Northwest), it doesn't make sense to buy one right now, so I will be in the buying mood in the spring. At that time it also might not make sense to purchase a 2018 model since the 2019's should be out after April 1. It seems like a model year change can affect the value of the existing model by somewhere between $7,000 and $10,000 based on what I've seen in NADA model values. In other words it could depreciate that much when the new models come out. After having said all of that, can someone tell me if a new model year unit can be ordered before April 1 and have it delivered after April 1, or does it have to be ordered after April 1? I believe the consensus is that it takes about 2 months after you order for it to be delivered to the dealer. Does anyone have experience with this process? Thank you for any first hand knowledge you can share.

We have been to every fall rally since 2006 and toured the Montana plant every time. This year the assembly line was as packed as we have ever seen it. They were turning 33 a day which means sales are booming and delivery time many be longer than expected. There is also a shortage of transport divers as every transport service was hiring.

Thanks for the information. Do you happen to know if the new units that come out on or after 4/1 can be preordered or if the order be dated after 4/1?

Ordered my 16 in fall of 15 and told them I didn't need it until March or April. Got a call back from the dealer and Keystone said if I wanted all the discounts it would have to be built in January. The point is you may end up paying quite a bit more if you are waiting for a 19.

I would place more value on my selection of a dealer than whether it was an 18 or 19.
