Hi
Here is what happened!
We were at an event in the northern part of central Florida Pasco County that was in a county park and the event holder had proved electric power from a large centrally located generator unit that was rented.
We were not going to the next place in Pinellas County because of having to set up in a parking lot and there would not be any power. When we got the information that there would also be a generator supplied and the rent ran out on the generator where we were so we moved.
On arrival and after getting parked in a line of other units we were advised the deal for the generator had fallen thru. We were parked in a way that was going to cause a lot of work on several other RV owners to get out when fellow came to me and said I could use his single Honda 2000i for the night because he would not be displaying his wares at night.
I chained the Honda to a tree just off the side of the Montana about even with the kitchen slide.
My wife and I fell in love with that very quite running Honda that powered everything we needed for the entire event. Note this was February so AC was not needed but wife had her TV. LOL
So I got on the internet and checked Craig’s list for several areas of Florida.
Found the pair for sale in Lee County.
Moved the Montana to the last place for the season event and hightailed it to Lee County purchased the pair with paralleling unit for $1,000.00. By looking at the color of the oil the one without the parallel unit had been run for some hours but not a lot the one with the parallel unit had clean oil in it so it had not been run much or had been run out of oil and oil added after the fact but wouldn’t start. I purchased them anyway because the single unit and the parallel item were worth the $1,000.00.
It turned out that the unit with clean oil and wouldn’t start had not been run but one time and then stored without preparing it for storage and the main jet in the carburetor was plugged with dried fuel. It took me about an hour to get it running.
The one thing that is very good about these units is they are designed to be stored for extended periods of time. You must follow the instructions in the manual before putting them in storage. Being in the aircraft business I go one step more in preparing them for storage. I run then until they run out of fuel then put a pint of AVEGAS in each one and run them until they are out of fuel then drain the carburetor with the drain provided.
They commonly only run for 4 or 5 days a year in February. The rest of the time they are in the front storage compartment where the generator is when the Montana is equipped with a generator.

In my count, and it is probably off by a bit? 1-2000=3, 2-2000=9, 1-3000=5, other=7.
Honda's are on sale till first of December, so I got a bit of time to make a final decision. Thanks for all the replies so far.

Broke down and bought a pair of EU2000's. There were some on Craig's list, but they were wanting almost what new was and use was undetermined.
Thanks again guys

Newbie question, we recently purchase a 2017 Montana 3921FB with residential type refrigerator. I have 1 honda EU2000i companion that have a 30 amp type plug, is this enough to power my rig? I do understand that I can't run my 2 AC with just 1 EU2000.
Any help would be highly appreciated

Go Army,
Your Honda will run the frig with power left over. Your Honda will not run a single a/c, a pair should run 1.

Hi
If your EU200i has a 30 amp RV receptacle then it is half of a pair and the expensive half at that.
While the refer is running the Microwave may be too much for a single 2000i.

Went to a digital capacitor in 15500 a/c and my h2000i runs but not much else. Don’t forget you have the converter overhead

We have a Champion 3100 Watt ($800), which I can left without issue. Also if you put a soft start on your AC, you can run the AC with one 2000 watt generator.

Bought the soft start for Christmas waiting for a warmer time to install. Thanks for the heads up.

if i did not already have a eu3000.
i would go with three eu2200. ( yes three can run together).
that way i could burn only as much gasoline as needed. or burn all three at once for the big power.
