Repair tips for small tears to rubber roof

Hi all,

I had my fifth wheel in a storage lot and as luck would have it a tree brushed against the rear of my 3610 RL.

My ladder was damaged and will need to be repaired.

Unfortunately, the rubber roof sustained three small tears. The largest being about the size of a half dollar.

Does anyone have repair tips ( patch material, sealer, etc) vs having an RV shop do the work.

Thanks

Sean, Trees have a tendency to just jump out there and grab your unit when not looking for it to happen. My suggestion is to clean the areas around the small tears and make sure they dried well and then purchase some Eternabond tape at a dealer near you and put patches over the holes. You can then seal the tape even more by putting self leveling caulk around the patches edges.

Eternabond is your friend. Do what Rondo suggested and it will be fine.

Yes, Etrnabond is a Great Friend. Follow the instructions carefully and make the patch larger than the tear. I had a local tree rip my new roof a few years ago and the Etrnabond is still there doing a great job. Don't be surprised at the price--it is worth every dollar!

I always carry a roll of eternabond tape with us in the fiver. Just be careful when you place it, once down, pretty much down.
