Loose indide step! Dangerous!

Walking up and moreso down on steps from rear den to main floor...center step is very loose. The downward pressure pushes it away fr om the step above.

Anyone know how the inside steps are secured?

Suggestions on how to secure would be greatly appreciated!! Very dangerous as it is....

Thank you!!

Didnt see the single screw througb the carpet at 1230 this morning. With some daylight anf a night's sleep, retracted screw..moved it over an inch and tightened her down. Good to go!

Have daughter and 22 mo old grandbaby with us. Easily forgotten and scary to think of consequences......
