Water pump
Regarding the "built in" water pump in our Montanas (when you don't have park water hookup), what, if anything has anyone done about the noise the pump makes? When I turned ours on for the first time, I thought it was going to come out of the wall. If I was asleep, and the wife ran water, I'm sure you would have had to scrape me off the ceiling. I know they are typically noisy, but gee whiz!!! The dealer mechanic that was typical and suggested a rubber pad. Most of the time we will be "hooked up" to park water, but once in a while........! No problem with the pump, it works fine. Just noisy.......
Suggestions, ideas?

Rubber pads under the feet and flexible connections are about all I know to do. Someone may know where to get a silent running pump, but I don't. We find ours tolerable.

You can also put a small Shurflo Accumulator Tank or
the large more expensive Shurflo 2-Gallon Stainless Steel Tank . Both are from Camping World catalog since it was easy to find. Our tag along trailer had the small one and I bought the 2 gallon for the 5th wheel. I found the installation space for the large one is a little tight so I have not put it in yet. That is next months project. I think I would go with the small one if I did it again.
All these tanks will do it stop the pulsing of the pump. That is better when drawing small amounts of water at a time.
Good luck and keep us informed.
Cheers,

I think there is some pumps on the market that dosen't make so much noise. My SOB I have noticed doesn't make as much noise as the Cambridge. ( We miss our Cambridge). Also our heating system is 50% quiter with our new 5er, thats a great improvement. It isn't located in the kitchen area, doesn't sound like a air plane taking off. GBY....

The water lines are touching all kinds of surfaces in the basement and vibrate when the water is turned on. I installed foam pipe insulation on all accessible pipes and it really helped reduce the noise.

As Stiles stated rubber feet and a piece of flexible hose in the water lines do help. When we got our Monty I kept telling our dealer it was the pump making the noise. He installed the rubber feet and flex hose. Not much improvement. He insisted it was just the nature of the beast. I knew better as our other trailers were never this noisy. I finally changed the pump on my own as I had a spare from our previous trailer. Guess what? About 80% of the noise was coming from the original Monty pump. Sometimes you just get a bad one.

We did isulate the pump from the floor on our 06 but I thought the we noted rubber feet on the pumps on the last factory tour?? IMO it is not so much the pump as lines banging against the floor and walls and perhaps the pump not being insulated from the floor. We did insulate as best we could and the pump noise is no worse,IMO, as on other campers we have owned. Maybe we were just lucky...

18" of 1/2 inch rubber hose on the inlet and outlet of the pump made a big difference with mine, use hose clamps and make a loop
in the hose

I had the pleasure of using mine for the first time and I thought it was a defective pump.I couldn't believe the noise.I check out the pump visualy and saw nothing wrong, rubber feet under pump, hoses securde,no water leaking,so I came to the conclusion that Keystone took it upon themselves to encourage us to save water, with that noise you don't run it for any length of time.

I replaced my factory pump the first year with a Sureflo variable speed pump - watched the C.W. sales and acquired one there. That, along with some isolation and foam padding made a world of difference and the pressure stability is a great feature.
