2 Battery question

I have 2 new batteries, same strength.

I want to use one of them to get power while I get ready to go up north this weekend. This will draw down the amps on this one battery.
We then connect 'both batteries while we are driving up north.
My question relates to the concept of using 2 batteries with different strengthes.

Ok, the question relates to charging both batteries. When I plug in will 'both' batteries return to the same strength?

I think I covered what I wanted to ask.

Just keep both connected in parallel and use and recharge them both at the same rate. no need to connect and disconnect them separately.

I agree with Jason. Don't disconnect one of them. Just run off both.

Unless they are both 6 volt batteries in which case they need to be connected in series.

There is a switch that you can install that allows you to use one 12V battery or the other or both at the same time. See: http://www.wirthco.com/20393.html

I installed a switch similar to the link above almost 10 years ago. Moved it to the new unit a few years ago. I got it at a marine parts dealer. I have 2 6 volt and a single 12 volt and can switch as noted in the link above. Just run on the 6 volt and sort of have the 12 for backup. This also allows you to completely disconnect the batteries when in storage, as the factory switch still has some items still connected. I store my Montana for as long as 6 months and I think the batteries still work.
