If you are sure it is opening,in a past post someone spoke of a large piece of plastic from when the tank was drilled that blocked the opening. Not nice!! could be your problem. Is this the first dumping for you on this trailer? If it is are you sure they are marked correctly?

Have you found ALL of the drain handles?

Not familiar with the model 3410RL (typo?), but this shouldn't matter too much, however...

Has it ever drained before? You don't mention if you've ever done this successfully in the past. Is the tank full and you are trying to drain it? I hope you are sure there is something to drain. Are you sure you are pulling the correct handle? Most Montys these days have 3 dump handles (2 for gray and 1 for black) and some past posters have either gotten these mixed up or didn't use the correct handle.

These are the easy answers. The hard ones include:

The gate is not opening because it is broken or the handle is detached.
You might have a clog of "debris" that needs to be cleared. There are many ways to do this, some messier than others and hopefully I don't have to cover them or better yet, maybe others have better ideas.

Let's start with these which correspond to the prior responses and we'll go from there. Let us know what you find or we'll have to come up with other ideas.

Henry,
It would appear that you have not had the rig too long. But if you have not let your tank fill up before draining it you may have the dreaded pyramid build up. Water water, water is the answer to preventing any build up of "stuff" in the tank. And never leave the black tank valve open. That is just asking for trouble.

There have been reports of the cut outs for the tank's plumbing being left in the tank. This, of course, can cause "stuff" to get caught in the valve area.

Good luck and let us know what you find out.
