Sue, yes, ours faces the bed.
Judy, when you went 11 days without dumping did you and Glen both use your onboard shower and toilet when you were home? Looks like in Amana we won't have to go a week after all. We'll have 3 nights of full hookup, then have to move to a w/e site when their incoming rally arrives. We can do four nights ok but I was a bit worried about going 7 nights.
See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

Steve, we probably went to the bathhouse and/or our son's house for our showers when we were trying to conserve our tank contents. Since we take our blue tote along, we could have showered at home, because we use the blue tote for gray water. Only in an emergency (like when we were stuck in Denali for eleven days) do we use the blue tote for the black tank.

Thanks, Judy. It will help knowing that it's possible and what you did to make it stretch.

I need to check the sink to see where it drains. Our washer drain goes straight to the dump connection, it doesn't go to any of the tanks. We don't have a washer yet, but had the connections made when we ordered the FW. If we ever install a washer we would have to be connected to a sewer to use it.

Len & Donna, ours is also direct to the dump line. Our prior Montana had it to the shower gray tank. We found out the hard way about the third load it will overflow that tank. And that's starting with an empty tank to start with!

As it turns out, we'll have 3 nights in full hookups, then move and do 4 nights with water/electric only. I'm a lot more comfortable with that although thanks to the replies here I think we could do the week.

We are currently at a friends house in Mid-Mich - new construction site in the woods. He is just having us dump our gray water into his 60 acre swamp. That (76 gals) seems to fill much quicker than our 38 gal black. We feel we can go 5 days on our black. We'll see.

Dave, I won't tell you that we can go 15 days on the black! Takes some practice tho! We can go longer on the gray as well, but ya gotta take showers in the bathhouse, or in this case, in your friends house. If we do that, we can take 60 gallons of fresh and 15 days on black and gray and galley. It is a challenge, but we have done many times.
Sounds like you are enjoying your new baby!

Eight days at Quartzite has been our max. We used just our Montana as there was no access to anything else. The showers were very quick and it was paper for everything but the pots and pans that we needed to cook in. I thought it would be a lot harder than it really was. I will say that I really appreciate a full hook up though.
