Moratorium of Georgia gas taxes

While we were camping, Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue declared a 30 day moratorium on the state's gas taxes, saying he expected the prices to drop at least 15 cents at all pumps across the state.

Nice to see at least one politician trying to help! Now if the stations will only do as instructed...

You'd think it would have set an example for the others, wouldn't you???? Michigan taxes I believe are around $.43/gal?? Someone correct me on this?? But regardless, the politicians around this state, I believe, would rather gag than give up a penny of taxes.

Sorry about the hiccups! Our internet is doing strange things. Intermittent service/noservice/very VERY slow service (3 meg cable). Our cell phones are acting up too for some reason all day. Voice service works, but cell web browser and Brew apps on both my wife's and my phone, which use a different data network has been down for two days. Techs at Alltel can't figure it out. I will call them back tomorrow. Anyone ever see The Twilight Zone? Maybe a UFO is hovering over us?????

Wordsmith, I hope that the GA gov's move will build pressure on these other states to follow suit eventually.
