Going to be a Grand Pa

Well back from the RGV. Spring is in the air, the birds and bees are busy. I look out my window from my recliner and see the signs of spring, the pear tree is in bloom, the flowers around the yard light are in bloom, the dandelions are in bloom and yes, my momma Robin is back.

She has built her nest in the same spot as last year. Today was the first time I had a chance to get a close pic while she left for a few minutes. Looks like 4 little ones.

Last year at the campground one made a nest next to us, behind the propane tanks and we could look down from the kitchen table right into the nest. It was a complete science project for our then 7 year old. She was completely mesmerized by the whole process from the long hours of sitting on the eggs to the ever so dainty feeding after they hatched. Then one morning there was only two, mid day one, and luckily she was able to see the last one get on the edge of the nest and wobbly at first, take its first flight to a little tree behind the RV's. I was amazed at her attentiveness and her little blog she wrote everyday, great experience for her. Happy Trails, Steve and Susie
