Clunk when starting out
I get a clunk when I start out and a clunk when I stop.
It feels just like the kingpin is slopping around.
Is there a fix for this?
I have the Pull-Rite Superglide.

Pull Rite will be at the Rally and will service owners hitches.

I have the same problem. About half the time this happens. They told me to make sure the adjustment bolt thing is very snug. Doesn't really help much.
Could you post or P.M. me with the results they tell you, as I won't be at the Rally.

Had the same problem. Pullrite sent me a shim pack for the king pin. It helped but didn't completely fix the problem. I just learned to live with it. Good luck.

If you adjust the pad it will help with the clunk. Make sure to have the pad adjusted toward the back of the hitch, may be around an inch past the front frame. When it is adjusted properly when you push the sliding head toward the front and then try to pull it to the back it should take a litle bit of a pull to get it to release.

The adjusting bolt needs to be very tight!
As far as the king pin - on mine it is and has always been tight with no slop at all.
If you have the Mor/ryde pin box, could it be that? Sometimes that spring is not correct for the load and needs to be replaced.

I have that problem if the adjustment bolt is not tight enough.

I had this problem with my Superglide. The factory walked me through checking how much movement the kingpin had in the hitch and we found that it was well within their specs. Yes.....there is a very small amount of movement with the kingpin in the hitch. I figured that even that small movement caused the clunking so I sprayed some slip plate on the top of the hitch receiver plate and the clunking was minimized and pretty much gone. I think the two plates were kind of binding on each other which caused the clunk. it could be my imagination but it seemed to help a lot.
