Clear coat

Has anyone had clear coat applied to the graphics on their Montana units?
If you have does it prevent the graphics from being damaged?

We haven't as it is too late for us. But one thing if you try it, make sure the person knows what he is doing. A lot of clear coats are solvent based and could cause the graphics to lift and peel. So I would be careful.

Clear coat peels also unless of excellent quality, excellent preparation, and excellent application. Be careful. Larry

Not sure about clear coat, however we had "Xzilon" applied at the time of purchase at the dealer. It is a permaplate type application that reduces the need for waxing. There is a 5 year warranty.... "should the original painted surface" which in my mind eliminates the graphics as they are not painted.

No issues so far...rig is easy to wash...no waxing yet, rig is 2 1/2 years old.

I cleared the front and rear caps on mine. Front cap in march 2010 the back this pass may. replaced the graphics on the front and cleared them and cleared over the existing on the back this yr because they were begining to curl around the edge there is a process you need to follow. I am no expert but me and my son did mine in my back yard. front looks great after 17 months all outside in sun and rain. JMHO.

How do you remove the graphics, with out hurting the fiberglass surface?

It is best done in warm or hot weather and with the help of a blow dryer. just be careful and don't get the fiberglass to hot. it takes time but can be done and then some goo gone or paint thinner to clean the glue off.
