Lake Charles LA and Biloxi MS
We're trying to plan a trip to Biloxi MS area. Anyone have any recommendations about the Whispering Meadow RD Park in Lake Charles/Westlake LA area? Then on to Biloxi area - any suggestions for Biloxi/Gulfport,Ocean Springs area? We'll be towing 36' 3000RK and like lots of room. Anybody been there/done that area?

Kinder is about 25 miles from Lake Charles. Choushatta Casino has a wonderful RV park that is $17 during the week and $22 on the weekends. They have a gas station with diesel at $3.77 when were there last weekend. You do not have to gamble to stay there. They have fresh baked pastries on the weekends at the lodge for free. Heated swimming pool and lake to fish in. The RV park is called Red shoes RV Park. They take Good Sams, and if you visit their website you might get a coupon that will allow you to pay for three nights and get two free. Food was good at the Terrace in the casino, and Faustos in Kinder has great food. We found a place called DI's that had wonderful food and a great Cajun band.
Enjoy some great food.

We spent a week at Gulf Island National Park about two weeks ago, in Ocean City. Some of the sights would not accomodate a rig as long as yours, but others would. The rate was $16/night, $8 for seniors. They don't take reservations, but there were open sites during the week. Call ahead and they can tell you if they have any openings.
