Verizon Jetpack questions

Hi.... Anybody use Verizon's Jetpack for home use? What kind of download speeds are you getting? Is it practical for home use?
Thanks.

I will have to check the speeds. We are using the jetpack now here at our winter lot in Florida and we use it when on the road.

Just checked using speedtest 25.45 Mbps Down and 19.35 Up

works ok for us including streaming video.

Wow! I only get about half that in the stick house with a router. May have to look into switching altogether. Thanks for posting.

I've used the Jet pack for many years. Speed will depend on strength of connection and number of users near

We run our business of Verizon wireless. We normally have about 3000 minutes on our Home Phone Connect. Our Jet pack down speeds with 3 bars is usually 40 but can be anywhere between 30 and 49. Up speed is usually about 30.

We've found that using the Hotspot on our cell phone was cheaper than using the Jetpack. We found the service to be the same. One less thing you have to remember.

I also found that my Galaxy S7 works better than the JetPack. Ditched the JP and saved $20 monthly.

Good question and good info. Friends of ours are switching to a Verizon unlimited data package and getting rid of their home internet service. They travel the same as us, anywhere from 2 to 4 months a year.

So with a MiFi of even using one of their I-phones as a hotspot they can download movies and do everything else?

Here's a follow on question. I have an Iphone 5, which is supposed to be 4g technology, and with my hotspot I typically get 3-4 mps download speed. Does the jetpack have a better antenna or something, to enable faster speeds?

Are you where you have 4G service? I get over 40 with my phone and Jetpack.
When I had 3G service I got about the service that you now see.

I live in Denver, and usually have two or three bars on the phone in the stick house. Would a signal booster help? Maybe I don't have 4G. I get the LTE display sometimes.

Denver should have 4G service everywhere. Our little town could hide in one corner of Denver but you never know.

Well, I did a little research, and found that Denver has the second worst 4g service in the country, next to Portland, Maine. Who knew?

So, thanks for all the tips, but it looks like I'm stuck for now.

Go to your Verizon store and ask them. They may have a solution for you. The people at our store are very helpful.

Watch out for speed throttle back which occurs after a certain GB limit is reached on the unlimited plans. It's in the fine print.
I wouldn't use it at home for that reason. Good thoughts on using the phone as a hotspot instead of another line for the jetpack when on the road.

Good to know, thanks. How's your speed in the Springs?
