Living Room Floor is Wet

During our last trip in our 3750FL a couple of weeks ago, DW noticed that the living room floor was wet. I thought it was because I had washed but not dried the top of the slideout. I went back and checked today after a couple of days of heavy rain, and the floor is wet again.

It's only wet below the front corner of the enclosed front slideout. It's not wet by the outer wall, and it's not wet at the other end of the slideout.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is this something I can fix, or do I have to take it in? Thanks.

On front bedroom models, wetness in one or more corners of the side out is usually caused by a break in the seal on the 4" trim piece on the bottom of the slide on the outside. For us recaulking that solved the problem, but the sun aged the seal and we had to dig it out and seal it again after three years. I would imagine that the FL models are similar.

reply on wet floor. on our 2014 305rl we had water coming in from the road when towing in rain. a gap underneath had not been sealed and the carpet at the edge of the slide would get wet. dealer sealed it and no more problem.

Another place to check is, if there is a window at the wet end, check the outer seal between the outer window flange and the outside surface of the slide wall. The seal material can shrink and allow water to seep into the wall and migrate under the wall to the carpet.

Lift up the carpet flap where carpet is wet. What do you see? My guess is you can see some daylight or a gap in seal. John

Last fall, we also had wet carpet in the living room slide after a fairly heavy rain. After checking all the moulding, trim, and window flange, we discovered the culprit. Big pine needles squezzed between rubber seal and top of slideout. Now I sweep the slides if we've camped in the woods. We have had much heavier rain since but problem seems to be fixed.

Well, it's confirmed today. This was the problem. I finally got a dry day to re-caulk the bottom edge of the trim. It's rained a couple of days since and the floor hasn't gotten any wetter. Now I just have to figure out how to dry the carpet and the bottom edge of the sofa and get rid of the mold. Thanks to all for their suggestions and help.
