Fantastic fan

My Fantastic fan has stopped operating. The fan won't start and the cover will not open. I'm thinking either switch or rain sensor. It has not rained lately Just fog in mornings. Any suggestions or ideas?

Fantastic Fan is now owned by Dometic, so you should be able to go to Dometic.com for information to trouble shoot your fan.

They are known to have "stickion" issues with the cap and the gasket, particularly if it hasn't been used for a while. You might try giving it an assist in opening.

As Carl said, it is not uncommon for the gasket to stick and prevent the cover from opening. And if the cover does not open the fan will not start. But you should hear the motor run for a few seconds trying to open the cover before it stops, if it has power to it. If it does not run at all then you likely have a power problem. There is a fuse on the fan base that could be blown. Or the fuse in the fuse panel could also be blown.

Did you try it in manual mode?

They are also known for the control board to go out. Called Fantastic fan and paid 40 dollars for new board.

Fantastic fan

My problem is chewed wiring in the wall. I have tried tracing the wires to see where the power is supposed to come from but is is not the fuse panel The wires continue on past the fuse panel, maybe to battery compartment. I haven't gone to look yet if that is the case. The next nice day it will be looked at. If anyone has done this please let me know It is a brown wire jacket with 4 light ga. wires inside. I tested the broken wires and there is not any current there. Thanks for any help.

My guess would be that a 4 wire cable with small wires would go from the control panel to the fan assembly. Control panel should only need 2 wires for power, positive and ground.
